- Description
- Day-old unsexed chicks are available by pre-order and are picked up at our farm gate on Sunday afternoons in May and June depending on availability.
- We do not vaccinate our chicks nor our adult birds.
- We will stay in touch with you via email regarding hatch date, pick-up and payment.
- In order to reserve chicks for you a 20% deposit is required and paid for via Interac email transfer.
- We will contact you via email after you place your order as soon as we can.
- If you are travelling more than an hour to pick up your chicks, poults or waterfowl you will need to order a $6 heat pack through our online store or a $30 standard sized chick box package that comes with a heat pack. Day old chicks, poults and waterfowl cannot regulate their own temperature until they are a few weeks old, and we would not want them to catch a chill on their way to their new home.

- We cannot guarantee show quality. This is not an APA recognized breed.
- We have been breeding Olive Eggers for many years now. The hens and roosters look a lot like Marans now, but they tend to have pea combs some of them may also have feather legs.
- The Olive Egger chick will probably look a lot like a Black Copper Marans chick when they hatch.
- The Olive Eggers chickens can be either black or blue in colour and they may or may not have the copper colouring of the Marans.
- We let our Olive Egger hens' free range with our Marans flock year-round.
- Our hens always lay an olive or moss coloured large eggs. The Olive Egger eggs, and the hens are similar in size to our Marans.
- Egg color varies by each individual bird, by the time of the year, diet, health, lighting and management (free-range on green pasture vs. confinement). They are not always super dark olive colouring eggs as the colour is applied to the outside of the egg the same way it is with the Marans chicken egg.
